A thunderstorm came through as we were packing up. It pelted rain, and hail, then it stopped, then started again. By 10:00 we chanced it, and walked all the way to the station, about 15mins, without any rain. Then while we were waiting at the station, it came down again, and was splashing through the windows high in the roof, and we got a bit wet. Our train left at 11:23, with us in 2nd class (there had been no seats left in 1st when I booked), and we were 3 rows apart.

Still it was a good trip, heading into the Italian then Swiss Alps.
We had to change trains at Brig, and I'd been told we couldn't book seats, so we checked, and that was right. We also had to get some lunch, and some money because the Swiss don't use Euros. So we caught the local train up the valley to Zermatt, arriving at about 16:00.

The apartment we have is quite close to the centre of town, but we went for a walk to try to find where we had stayed last time (2008). There were some clouds on Matterhorn, but the forecast is good for the next couple of days.
