Day 64 - Saturday 6 July - Barcelona

Saturday 6 July

Today wasn't planned. We took our time in the morning, doing more washing, and hanging it our off the edge of the balcony as so many do in Europe.  Freaks D out, having to collect it back again.

Then we caught 2 trains, a bus and a funicular which together took us up 512m to the highest point above Barcelona, Tibidabo.

There is an amusement park, a small but nice basilica and the communications tower from the 1992 Olympics.
We wandered around, looking through the haze at landmarks we knew,

then looked at the church,

then sat in the shade. We sat long enough for it to be lunchtime, which we had, then came home.
We spent the afternoon catching up on zzzzzs, catching up on blogs, and D checked out some ideas for the next couple of places.
We had early dinner, and there was a thunderstorm.  But it stopped, so went out for an evening excursion.

At 21:30 was the performance of the Magic Fountains of Montjuic, so we walked for 30mins and got a place in the front row, which meant that sometimes we got wet, but that didn't matter.

Then we walked home again.
